Abbelo is a self-development product operated by Abbelo LLC, an Arizona limited liability company. To run it for you we collect what you sign up with, what you create in the app, and what we need to bill you. We do not sell your data. You can export everything we hold about you and delete your account from inside the app whenever you want.
When you create an account we store the email, password hash, and any name you provide. Sign in with Google or Apple instead and we receive the basic profile information those providers share (your name, email, and avatar URL). On your profile you can add a handle, bio, avatar, social links, and a visibility preference that controls whether your public page is shown to people who do not follow you. If you publish a program you also give us its name, description, sessions, files, and any creator settings you configure.
As you use Abbelo we store the things you do inside it. Voice sessions: each conversation’s transcript, duration, and Abbelo-generated summary are saved so you and Tessa can refer back to them. Brain: as you talk to Abbelo, an internal model of you (brain_sources, brain_nodes, brain_edges, brain_index) is built so future sessions are personalized; the Judge runs over your sessions to produce becoming_scores and commitments. Programs: which programs you enrolled in, which sessions you completed, and any reflections or experiments tied to them. Feed: the posts, replies, likes, and bookmarks you create. Chats: the conversations and messages between you, Abbelo, friends, and groups. Notes: anything you write into the Notes surface. Goals, streaks, daily checks, and notifications: the records the app needs to show you progress and remind you of things. Referrals and creator payouts: who you referred, the resulting affiliate earnings, and the connected Stripe account used to pay them. If you delete your account these records are removed along with it.
When you visit Abbelo we receive basic technical information from your browser or device: IP address, user agent, language, referring URL, and the pages and actions you took. We use this for security, abuse prevention, and product analytics. Abbelo stores a small amount of state in your browser’s localStorage and sessionStorage to keep you signed in and to remember preferences: keys include abbelo-auth (the Supabase session), abbelo_session_alive, abbelo_remember_me, abbelo_remembered_email, abbelo_profile (a cached copy of your profile), abbelo_feed_bookmarks, abbelo:chat-prefill, abbelo:chat-embed, abbelo_suggested_ids, abbelo_dismissed_papers, and abbelo_referral_code (when you arrive via an invite link). Clearing your browser storage signs you out and resets these.
Abbelo is built on a small set of vendors. Supabase hosts our database and authentication. Stripe processes subscription payments and runs Stripe Connect for affiliate and creator payouts. Google provides the Gemini models that power voice sessions, chats with Abbelo, Tessa’s analysis, and other AI features, and also handles Google sign-in. Apple handles Apple sign-in. Resend delivers transactional and weekly emails. Sentry receives error reports so we can fix bugs. PostHog receives product analytics events. Langfuse receives traces of AI calls so we can monitor and improve them. Inngest runs background jobs. Each receives only what it needs to do its job and is bound by its own contract and privacy policy.
We use what we collect to run the product for you: authenticate you, render your feed and chats, compute Tessa’s scores from your sessions, generate the AI responses you read and hear, send the weekly Tessa briefing and other emails you have opted into, process payments and pay creators and affiliates, prevent fraud and abuse, debug crashes, and make the next version of the product better.
Your conversations and the contents of your Brain are used to personalize Abbelo for you — Tessa, voice sessions, and the recommendations you see all read from this data. We send your messages and session text to our AI provider (currently Google Gemini) under their commercial API terms, which do not permit using API content to train their general-purpose models. We do not sell your content. We may use aggregated, de-identified signal (for example, anonymized completion rates or theme counts across many users) to improve the product and to power creator-facing intelligence; we do not show creators the contents of any individual member’s sessions.
We keep your data for as long as your account is open. If you delete your account from Settings, your profile, sessions, brain, notes, chats, posts, and other personal records are removed from our active systems within thirty days. We may keep a minimal financial record where we have to for tax or accounting reasons, and we may keep anonymized aggregates that no longer identify you.
You can update your profile and visibility from Settings. You can download a JSON export of your data from Settings > Export Your Data; the file includes your profile, settings, notes, feed entries, voice session metadata and summaries, brain index, nodes, and edges, program enrollments, programs you authored, referrals, and follows. You can delete your account from Settings > Delete Account. Residents of the European Union, the United Kingdom, California, and other jurisdictions with privacy laws also have rights of access, correction, portability, restriction, and objection; email us to exercise them.
Abbelo is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we will remove it.
Our database and primary infrastructure are hosted in the United States (Supabase, US West region). If you access Abbelo from outside the US, your data is transferred to and processed in the US and other countries where our subprocessors operate. By using Abbelo you consent to that transfer.
Data is encrypted in transit. Account data sits behind row-level security on Supabase so only your own user can read your own rows. Payment card details never touch our servers; Stripe handles that directly. No system is perfect — if you believe your account has been compromised, change your password and email us at once.
We may update this policy as the product changes. When something material changes we will email the address on your account or post a notice inside the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top of this page is always the date of the latest version.
Privacy questions, exports, and deletion requests go to hello@abbelo.com. The companion document is the Terms of Service.
